Thriller fans.. Buy this book!!

The Wife Between Us
From Amazon:
“When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife.
You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement – a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love.
You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle.
Assume nothing.”

Truer words were never written!! Assume nothing. This book will make you think you’re reading the same old domestic thriller we’ve been trudging through since it was cool to be a Gone Girl wannabe. But, boy oh boy, this book will be different.

Since that blurb doesn’t really tell you anything at all, that’s where I come in.

The Wife Between Us is written in three parts. Part One is told with a first-person narrative from Vanessa that alternate with a third person narrative of Nellie. Parts Two and Three are both strictly from Vanessa’s point of view. This is not where I tell you what happens to Nellie.

What we know before the first major twist is that Vanessa is the ex-wife of Richard. Richard is now engaged to the woman he cheated on Vanessa with. Vanessa is not happy with this. Simple enough, eh? Well, that’s the last time the story is simple.

What is most interesting to me about this book is the mind games it plays with the reader. I now realize that we are so quick to assign blame and judgment. It’s like we need to. This book will prove you wrong again and again no matter whom you blame. Essentially, all of these characters are flawed, some more than others, but the existence of those flaws are exploited to pull the reader in different directions.

Masterful.

Unfortunately, that is all I can say while this book is still not released. Well, that and you should really buy it. If an ARC sucks, I typically say that. This ARC did not suck.
